HRI Teams Up with Wheel It Forward and United Way
On July 24th, HRI spent the morning assembling a variety of durable medical equipment (DME) for Wheel It Forward, a local not-for-profit that acts as a lending library for anyone to borrow or donate DME at no cost. Our team used its operation/mechanical skills to assemble over 80 pieces of equipment including transition benches, shower seats and overbed tables. This allows Wheel it Forward patrons to recover at home without having to invest in buying expensive durable medical equipment.
The effort was coordinated by the United Way of Coastal and Western Connecticut which provides support to a multitude of community programs that address critical needs and advance equitable pathways to well-being and financial security for everyone. Hampford Research has a long history with the United Way, and this was a new level of engagement for us.
It was a wonderful way to spend a beautiful Friday morning, and our team had fun and felt a strong sense of pride in supporting a local organization.
