Successful American Coatings Show 2026
Hampford’s team was excited to attend the American Coatings Show this May in Indianapolis! With 542 exhibitors filling 138,000 square feet of exhibition space and over 8,000 attendees from 63 countries, there was indeed a lot to see and people to talk with about the trends in the coatings industry, a key market for HRI.
One of the new concepts that we will be keeping an eye on is the use of AI tools to guide and accelerate product development. As reported in the show newsletter on May 6th, Dr. Ioanna Tzortzi of Perstorp received the American Coatings Innovation Award for her paper “Accelerated Alkyd Emulsification through AI-Driven Experimentation” As discussed in a panel discussion “R&D under Pressure: Reformulating for Performance, Compliance and Sustainability” the coatings industry is being pushed to develop better performing, more sustainable coatings, and AI is gaining traction as a tool to do so.
