Reactor Synthesis

Reactor Synthesis

Chemical reactors for homogeneous systems generally take the form of tanks equipped with mixing devices and heat-exchange elements. These vessels can be manufactured out of steel, stainless steel, or Hastelloy, and be either lined (commonly glass or Teflon) or unlined.

In batch operations, such as those used at HRI, tank reactors are equipped with mixing devices to accelerate heat and mass exchange and ensure a uniformity of conditions inside the reactor. This approach ensures product uniformity both within the reaction itself as well as batch to batch.

Hampford Research has over 30 years experience in complex synthesis reactions. Our reaction vessels range from 10 to 2000 gallons capacity, all glass lined, 316 stainless or Hastelloy composition.

  • Glass-lined: 15, 30, 50, 100, 200, 500 & 1000 gallon capacity
  • Alloy: 50, 250, 500, 1000 & 2000 gallon capacity
  • Direct steam heat
  • Tower water cooling
  • Chilled water cooling
  • Closed-loop temperature control
  • Nitrogen blanket
  • Vacuum capability of 26” Hg and below
