Hampford Research Promotes Steve Finson to Research Fellow
Hampford Research, Inc., manufacturer of specialty chemicals, today announced the promotion of Steve Finson to Research Fellow.
“Steve has been part of this company since its literal first day,” said Kate Donahue, President and CEO. “He started working for my dad part-time on weekends, developing the products we would eventually manufacture, most of which we still make today! I am grateful for all that he has contributed to the company over those years and that he will be able to enjoy his well-earned retirement.”
Mr. Finson received a B.S. degree from the University of MA, Amherst, and a master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Steve continued his education at Florida State University completing three years of graduate work in photochemistry. Steve joined HRI in 1982 as Technical Director, a position he has held for over 39 years. In 2019, Steve was awarded a patent for his work on unique synthesis methods for water soluble HABI. Finson is a member of the American Chemical Society and upon retirement will take a position on Hampford’s Technical Advisory Board.
