Hampford Research is Recognized by SOCMA for Excellence in Safety Performance
HRI has been recognized by the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA) for exceptional performance in Innovation and Technology in Safety during SOCMA’s 2025 Safety Recognition Program.
The SOCMA Safety Recognition Program celebrates member companies and facilities that demonstrate outstanding leadership in process safety, employee engagement, training, and innovation. This year’s honorees represent a shared commitment across the specialty chemical industry to advancing a culture where safety is not just a priority — it’s a core value.
Hampford Research was honored for preventing injuries through safer equipment and proactive training.
After a minor hand injury involving a box cutter, Hampford Research introduced dedicated zip tie cutters, provided cut-resistant gloves to all operators, and reinforced safe handling procedures throughout production areas. The facility is shifting from primarily online training to a more interactive, hands-on model, with in-person sessions for HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, and forklift certification. Collaboration with the local fire department has further strengthened emergency preparedness through fire extinguisher training and updated chemical inventories. Together, these actions demonstrate Hampford Research’s commitment to continuous improvement, employee engagement, and community partnership in sustaining a safe and prepared workplace.
“We are honored to be recognized by SOCMA for our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards,” said Lloyd Lirio, President. “This achievement reflects the dedication of every team member at Hampford Research who works tirelessly to ensure a safe, efficient, and responsible operation.”
