Our Company & Mission
Hampford Research, Inc. (HRI) has served its Fortune 500 customers for over three decades. Now in its second generation, the firm was founded in 1982 by chemist Jack Hampford. Prior to starting HRI, Hampford spent over a decade at Ware Chemical, first as V.P. of Development and ultimately as President. Hampford sold the firm to Dart-Kraft Industries in 1980 and two years later started HRI, leveraging his knowledge and experience developing and manufacturing polyfunctional acrylic monomers into new applications and industries. Initially the company served the electronics and dental materials markets and has consistently expanded its product portfolio and markets served into a wide array of highly specialized products for the global personal care, printing/imaging, and coatings industries while still serving its earliest dental and electronics customers.
Today, the firm is run by his daughter, Kate Hampford Donahue, who leads a staff of long-time employees and new professionals giving the firm an effective mix of fresh ideas and institutional knowledge. The firm invests deeply in employee engagement and training, creating a workplace that is both fun and highly productive.

Hampford provides its customers with R&D support, toll and contract manufacturing services, and product scale-up and commercialization expertise. We provide superior technical support and intellectual property protection for our customers.
Our manufacturing facility supports a wide range of product volumes – from kilo scale products made in the lab to multi-ton materials produced in 2000 gallon reactors. We are equally comfortable making liquid and solid materials and our QC lab is fully equipped to meet our customers’ analytical needs.
