Chemical reactors for homogeneous systems generally take the form of tanks equipped with mixing devices and heat-exchange elements. These vessels can be manufactured out of steel, stainless steel or hastelloy, and be either lined (commonly glass or Teflon) or unlined.
In batchwise operations, such as those used at HRI, tank reactors are equipped with mixing devices to accelerate heat and mass exchange and ensure a uniformity of conditions inside the reactor. This approach ensures product uniformity both within the reaction itself as well as batch to batch.
Hampford Research has over 30 years experience in complex synthesis reactions. Our reaction vessels range from 10 to 2000 gallons capacity, all glass lined, 316 stainless or Hastelloy composition.
Current reactors include:
Glass lined: 15, 30,50, 100, 200, 500 & 1000 gallon capacity
Alloy: 50, 250, 500, 1000 & 2000 gallon capacity
Direct steam heat
Tower water cooling
Vacuum to 26 inches
Integrated temperature probes
Integrated Condensor and Receiver
